Agenda
18 MAY 2026 | Pre-Workshop
Fundamentals and Best Practices of AI in the Powertrain and in Development
The automotive industry is facing increasing pressure to deliver innovative, efficient, and sustainable powertrain systems within ever shorter development cycles. Artificial intelligence can support engineering processes by enhancing simulation, testing, optimization, and maintenance activities. In this workshop, we explore how AI can be applied to powertrain development to reduce time to market and engineering costs. Using practical examples, we demonstrate how AI enables faster decision-making, reduces the need for physical testing, and improves resource efficiency while maintaining high product quality.
This AI workshop provides engineers and managers with a solid introduction to the fundamentals of artificial intelligence, complemented by concrete application examples. The first segment introduces the core concepts of AI, including different model types and key methods, with a particular focus on machine learning. In the second segment, various AI approaches and their applications in powertrain systems and the powertrain development process are presented. The final segment addresses the integration of AI into automotive company processes, highlighting typical challenges and strategies to successfully overcome them.
