Traction Drive LLC is a small engineering company working to bring multi-roller traction drive technology to modern electric drive units.

The idea is straightforward: replace the helical gear reducer in a high-speed EV drivetrain with a compact roller cluster that transmits torque through rolling contact — no gear teeth, no gear noise. The underlying science was validated by NASA in the 1970s and 80s. We think the timing is finally right to build it for EVs.
